Summer is not a season for spirits. At least not the good ones. Drink water if you can stand it or juices. Stay hydrated without telling anyone about it or personally recommending it. It’s not a season to congregate, confabulate, or conjugate. Summer is for the boring and annoying people who insist on sanctifying the heat and praising the sun, a huge ball of fire that can dehydrate, blind you, and give you cancer… in other words, a direct competition to alcohol. I’m not having it. Meanwhile, turn on the AC and let’s stock some liqueur and the usual suspects in our room.


Bloody Nix

(Collins Glass – Not high ball! Collins Glass.) – Spring Drink

  • 1 shot of gin
  • 1/2 shot of Bacardi lemon
  • 1/3 shot of lime juice
  • 1 tablespoon grenadine syrup
  • Coke

Large ice cubes to the top of the glass. Add the first 4 ingredients and top up with Coke (room temperature). Serve with a straw.

Rouxo Marx

(old fashioned glass) – Fall Drink

  • 1 shot of Vodka
  • 1 shot of Blue Curacao
  • 1/2 shot of Extra Dry Vermouth
  • 2 shots of Cranberry Juice
  • 1/3 shot of Lime Juice
  • 7 drops of Grenadine Syrup

Mix (grenadine last) and serve with 4 ice cubes.


(old fashioned glass) – Winter drink

  • 1 shot of Baileys
  • 1 shot of Malibu
  • 6 fresh raspberries
  • 1 tablespoon of condensed milk

Macerate the raspberries with the other ingredients and mix until the liquid turns a homogeneous pink color, serve with ice. Winter drink.
